Her primary focus was on marketing and intellectual property. In 1993, Robinson became the Executive Director of the Chicago office of Public Allies. This nonprofit program <strong>trained young people in leadership<\/strong> and helped them develop skills for future careers in the public sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 1996, Michelle became the Associate Dean of Student Services at the University of Chicago. In this position, she developed the school&#8217;s <strong>first community service program<\/strong>. In 2007, Michelle put her own career aside to focus on promoting her husband&#8217;s campaign. On January 20, 2009, <strong>Barack Obama became the 44th President of the United States<\/strong>. In 2012, Barack sought re-election, facing a tough race against Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney. Despite the challenges, Michelle once again campaigned tirelessly for her husband. By this time, she had already established her image and gained widespread popularity. <em>Politico<\/em> described her as the most popular member of the Obama administration. She traveled the country, gave lectures, and made public appearances.
